In March 1995, the Chicago Tribune reported a rather devastating story…
A man was killed along the four lanes of a tri-state highway. A strong gust of wind had blown away his hat and, by instinct, he chased after it. Along then came a semi-trailer which could not brake in time. The truck hit the man, who died instantly.
Capturing the tragedy of the moment, a reporter penned these solemn reflections:
“He lost everything while pursuing nothing.”
