Is God punishing you?

Question: “Why is God punishing me when I didn’t do anything wrong?”

“Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy.  For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.

So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.” – James 1: 2 – 4 NLT

“The affliction is not meant to punish you; it is meant to train you to become a better person. God sees so much potential in you that He allows you to mature by stretching you and allowing you to go through testing and trials.”

– Pastor Ru dela Torre

The Result of Making Mistakes

“Making mistakes results in experiencing the consequences.

The temptation to regret and keep thinking about what you’ve lost will always be there. “

” No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead. I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. Let all who are spiritually mature agree on these things. If you disagree on some point, I believe God will make it plain to you.” – Philippians 3:13-15 NLT

Let Go. Forget the past. Move forward.

Joy vs. Circumstances

“If you want to experience joy, start focusing on God rather than on circumstances.”

“Always be joyful.  Never stop praying. Give thanks no matter what happens. God wants you to thank Him because you believe in Christ Jesus.” – 1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18

Choose to praise God at all times. Do not give up the joy you found in Christ.

Seasons of Mourning

“Even seasons of mourning have expiration dates.”

“For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime;
Weeping may stay for the night but rejoicing comes in the morning.” – Psalm 30:5

The absence of our problems should not be the basis of our happiness.

The Ultimate Expression of God’s Love

“When you feel like God doesn’t love you anymore, remember the cross.”

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16

“The ultimate expression of God’s love is Jesus nailed on the cross. So just in case you run out of reasons to believe that God still loves you, if you’re struggling to get a head-start for your comeback, think about the cross. If you’re asking why you need to go back to God, remember His love on the cross. Let His love carry you back. “

Loud Silence

Most of the time, when people confide and open themselves to us, we get so easily excited to immediately repair them by our own mindless lambasting words of pseudo wisdom…leaving them emotionally maimed.

We fail to realize that all they actually need is genuine love and care expressed in silence. Thus, we ought to listen.

‎”…when we are listening to somebody, completely, attentively, then we are listening not only to the words, but also to the feeling of what is being conveyed, to the whole of it, not part of it.”

I find genuine wisdom with what the Bible says in James 1:19, “Understand this…Let every person be quick to listen, slow to speak…”

Speak in loud silence by listening more. If you want to put words into it, make sure that your words are better than your silence.

The One and The Only

His hand hath made this noble work which stands

His glorious handiwork not made by hands.

Who spake all things from nothing; and with ease

Can speak all things to nothing, if he please.

Whose little finger at his pleasure can

Out mete ten thousand worlds with half a span:

Whose might almighty can by half a looks

Root up the rocks and rock the hills by the roots.

~ Edward Taylor (poet)~
