What You Most Desire

What do you desire the most?

Is it fame, fortune, wealth, or  love?

If your answer is ALL OF THE ABOVE.

Then, my friend, you are missing life.

LIFE without CHRIST is NO LIFE at all.

CHRIST should be the one you desire the most.

The MOST not the least.

“…I came so they might have life, a great full life. For I am the only way, the truth, and the life!”

— Jesus Christ —

Only YOU.

“Our fall was, has always been, and always will be, that we aren’t satisfied in God and what He gives. We hunger for something more, something other.”

― Ann Voskamp

May we find satisfaction only in God. For in Him, we have everything we need and could ever imagine.

Forgive the Inexcusable

“To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable..

Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.

~ Matthew 18:21-22 (NIV) ~

..because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you.”

― C.S. Lewis

Starring: I AM

“God said to Moses, ‘I am who I am.'”

Exodus 3:14a NIV

It is not just that God does but that He is.

Not just that He loves but that He is love.

Dunamis

In 1866 Alfred Nobel invented an explosive made of nitroglycerin absorbed in a porous material. It was by far the most powerful explosive that had so far been invented.

When Nobel and his friends saw what his invention could do, and had to decide on a name, they sought for the strongest possible word for power–in any language. The word they finally chose was the Greek word “dunamis”, from which our word dynamite is derived.

This word, in Greek also the strongest word for power, is used again and again in the New Testament for the power of Christ, the Gospel and the Christian life.

— Paul Lee Tan ({4536}, “Encyclopedia of 15,000 Illustrations”)

Philip Yancey grasped the very essence of why dunamis was used for Christ when he affirmed that “no one who meets Jesus ever stays the same.” For the strongest power one could ever imagine belongs to the One who created it.

“I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him.

Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.

May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.”

(Ephesians 3:16-19, NLT)

The Road Not Taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, and I—

I took the one less traveled by,

And that has made all the difference.

— Robert Frost

The World: Dream away. Follow them and work hard for them and you will get whatever you want.

Christ: Give up your dreams for me and I will grant you something that’s beyond your wildest imaginations.

Salvation’s End

“…you are a chosen people… that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” — 1 Peter 2:9

You are chosen.
Billions of people in the world, and you are chosen.
Chosen to be blessed, chosen to be loved, chosen to be saved.
Out of nothingness and insignificance, you were made important and relevant.
You play the starring role in the greatest rags-to-riches movie ever told in the universe.
But the story does not end there; your life story does not stop at salvation. No.
You were chosen for one ultimate purpose – worship.

Your salvation is not for yourself, but for God!
You are given the greatest honor of being chosen with the specific purpose of worshiping Him!
If worship is not the ultimate purpose of your salvation, then you are missing the best part of being saved!
Worship is the place of abundant blessings, richest fellowships, and incomparable fulfillment!

You were bought with the highest price for a reason.
Praise Him – daily, honestly, passionately.
That is true salvation’s end.

“We are saved to worship God. All that Christ has done for us in the past and all that He is doing now leads to this one end.”
— A.W. Tozer
