It’s way different when we actually get a slap of truth about our realizations…
the ugly truth about how ugly one can be in all aspects and angles.
No wonder why one gets abandoned.
No wonder why pain gets to dwell.
Yet through this agony, one gets to cry out to the only One who truly listens.
No wonder why it’s a beautiful pain.
“Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer.
From the end of the earth I call to you,
when my heart is faint.”
“May your unfailing love be my comfort,
according to your promise to your servant.”
“Dwell in the pains of the past, and you become a prisoner of depression.”
“Do not cling to events of the past or dwell on what happened long ago. Watch for the new thing I am going to do. It is happening already you can see it now!”
— Isaiah 43:18-19
Trust God’s goodness and mercy and start pleasing Him today.
Wash those bitter tears away. Drop the throbbing luggage of the past.
Remember that God gives us the strength to overcome the difficulties of the past, the present, and the future.
“The gauge of how much we truly treasure and love someone is not how happy we are with them…but how sad we are when we lose them.”
There will be times in our lives that though we have moved on from something hurtful, from time to time, we can still feel the flickering pain of losing it.
The blow haunts us; The damage daunts us.
Yet pain is inevitable and vital to us. Whether we like it or not, feeling it is beyond our control. One can only be as good as pretending and denying the pain. But still, the pain is there. Created to be felt.
Yet more than feeling it, it is there as a stirrer of realizations and learning.
Feeling the pain is not a sign of weakness nor defeat but a focal point of growth and a step higher to maturity.
“So we’re not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace.
These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. There’s far more here than meets the eye.
The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can’t see now will last forever.”
— 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (MSG)
God never wastes pain.
You tempted me to look back.
But everything that we had together was a lie.
